Terms and Conditions
The rules for using LambuVet, and what each of us is responsible for.
1. This agreement
LambuVet is a veterinary data management and reporting platform operated by Lambutech Africa Limited ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you are using it on behalf of a farm or an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
2. Accounts
A farm owner may register directly. Veterinary, field and administrative accounts are created by an administrator, and the role attached to an account determines what its holder can see and do.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself.
- Accounts are personal. Sharing one makes the activity log meaningless, which defeats the point of keeping records at all.
- Tell us or your administrator at once if you think somebody else has your password.
- We may suspend an account that is being used to damage the platform or another user.
3. Using the platform
You agree not to:
- enter records you know to be false, particularly clinical records that another person may rely on when treating an animal;
- attempt to reach farms, animals, cases or accounts your role does not give you access to;
- use the platform to break Nigerian law, including the laws governing veterinary practice and the control of animal disease;
- interfere with the platform's operation, or try to extract data by any means other than the export tools provided.
4. Veterinary responsibility
LambuVet records veterinary work. It does not perform it. Nothing on the platform is veterinary advice, a diagnosis, or a substitute for the judgement of a registered veterinarian.
Features that compute something from what you entered — drug withdrawal periods, booster due dates, dosage records — are aids to memory, not clinical decisions. The registered veterinarian responsible for an animal remains responsible for it. Where a withdrawal period affects whether an animal's meat, milk or eggs may enter the food chain, the responsibility for that decision is the veterinarian's and the farmer's, not the platform's.
Notifiable diseases must be reported to the appropriate Nigerian authorities. Flagging a case as notifiable in LambuVet is a record that you did so; it is not a report to anybody.
5. Availability
We aim to keep the platform available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, hosting faults and connectivity problems all happen. Where we plan work that will interrupt service, we will give reasonable notice.
6. Liability
We provide the platform in good faith and take reasonable care over it. To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, we are not liable for loss of livestock, loss of profit, loss of data caused by your own deletion, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform or from decisions taken on the basis of records it holds.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
7. Ending your use
You may stop using the platform at any time and ask for your records to be exported. We may end access where these terms are breached, where an account is dormant for an extended period, or where the arrangement under which your organisation uses the platform comes to an end. What happens to the records in each case is set out in the Data Policy.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will tell account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page is the date of the version you are reading.
